Corporate Complexities: Mastering the Mind Amid Power Plays

It was quite an interesting experience for me while I was working in the corporate.

I always believed I was paid for my work and efficiency. So I only have one job.. to be efficient and objective at what I do. To be unbiased and take effective decisions for the “organisational vision” 🙂

But guess what.. that’s not the same how others think or perceive.

99% of the time, it is less of organisational vision and more of personal motivation of power proximity employees/management.

Expectations were to smile and participate in shallow talks, laughing because you have to and participate in long boring meetings just to observe the conference table and power dynamics.. in the name of influencing skills.

Projects dragged because the two key stakeholders are leveraging time to get their voice heard and win or get their contracts extended.. all part of leadership lessons.

While the team members were proud of doing the work and being honest/ dishonest with timesheets, not having any personal skills, the management team was proud with their influencing skills and management reporting system.

How can an ordinary individual draw the line between doing and influencing?

And there comes the people with proximity to power who are less motivated to do but more motivated to prove how close they are to the power centre.

There is another section of employees who overestimate their abilities, believing spending 15 hours a day is the benchmark of efficiency, while what they did for the day is literally dogs breakfast.

It’s not easy to navigate the complexities of the human emotional framework, their personal lives, their fears of lack, uncertainty, greed, lack of skill set and illusions of overachievement.

Quite a lot to navigate when you are leading people.

Now what if you didn’t have to deal with those dynamics at all?

How do you know when is it about you and when is it about them?

Master your mind and give that time and space to know about the mind and how it operates.

We don’t operate any machine without a manual, but we operate this mind without a manual and wonder why others don’t care or why someone is hurtful..

It’s time to unlearn and learn.

Use the power of your innate wisdom to live with fearless inner peace.

Love

Manna 🙏
