Hi There,
This Month’s NIJA | Online Ashram Took an Unexpected Turn
We gathered to explore “Science vs God” and “The Fire of Life -Path”…
But an unexpected doorway opened.
A discussion on Pain vs Suffering led us right into the heart of Science vs God, all through a simple example: Morphine as a painkiller vs choosing not to use it.
One side of the world believes in walking through pain , seeing it as a path to release stuck trauma, emotions, and even karmic debts.
Another side focuses on minimising pain to give the body comfort.
And so the deeper questions arose…
Do we suffer because of ego, and not because of pain itself?
Can there be pain but no suffering , when there is no ego?
Is “God” a concept we created so that we can surrender our pain when we are too tired to carry it alone?
If God is unknown, then every form we give is simply a projection.
Perhaps faith is nothing more (and nothing less) than embracing the unknown with reverence instead of fear.
And maybe science is the constant attempt to burn away illusions – much like the inner fire of truth.
Before religion, there was only a way of living.
One ancient gift to humanity was the Eight Limbs of Yoga:
Ethical Living
Healthy Living
Breathe
Sit Comfortably
Withdraw Your Senses
Concentrate
Meditate
Burn the Illusion
Apply these to every experience – and life becomes… good.
Not because we tried harder.
But because we simply were.
Stop trying. Start being.
I created this space to have conversations we rarely allow ourselves in daily life, either because we’re not in the right environment, or not surrounded by people who hold that space.
How else can we expand the horizons of our thought and being?
